VISION
Center of excellence in practical legal training and provision of legal Aid.

DESCRIPTION OF THE CENTER
The current center started in 2001 as the faculty’s legal clinic.
The purpose of the clinic was twofold;
 To facilitate students acquire practical legal skills, and;
 To provide quality legal Aid and access to justice to the most vulnerable.
The center has since acquired wide experience through the cases that we handle on daily basis. In addition, the center identifies priority research areas for in depth research in order to address the more crucial issues brought by the clients. More recently, the center has put significant emphasis on mediation as opposed to litigation because of the overgrowing complexes in the court system. Moreover with increase in court fees and attorney’s fees, mediation seems the most practical and sustainable way of resolving especially family and community conflicts.
